OVP Proposes Over P2 Billion Budget for 2025

MANILA, Philippines —The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has proposed a budget of P2.037 billion for the year 2025, according to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Thursday.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman revealed that the proposed budget for the OVP represents an eight percent increase from its 2024 budget of P1.874 billion.

Budget Allocation Details

Secretary Pangandaman detailed the allocation: P188.5 million is set aside for personal services, P1.79 billion for maintenance and other operating expenses, and P56 million for capital outlay.

Interestingly, the OVP’s proposed budget for 2025 does not include any allocation for confidential and intelligence funds. This follows the OVP's previous decision to relinquish P500 million in confidential and intelligence funds from the 2024 national budget.

Read: No Request for Confidential Funds

The OVP had not requested confidential funds in the 2025 national budget, a significant move following its earlier concession in the previous year.
