Showbiz Icons Pay Respects to Mother Lily Monteverde at Wake

QUEZON CITY - The first day of Mother Lily Monteverde's wake at the 38 Valencia Events Place saw an outpouring of support from various celebrities, according to a report by Aubrey Carampel on "24 Oras."


Snooky Serna, Maricel Soriano, Gloria Diaz, Lito Lapid, Rio Locsin, and Gina Alajar were among the notable figures who came to pay their last respects to the renowned film producer. Sparkle consultant Johnny Manahan and directors Erik Matti and Chito Roño were also present.


Snooky Serna, one of the original "Regal Babies," expressed her deep sorrow, saying, "I feel like I have lost my parents all over again." She fondly recalled how Mother Lily treated her like her own child, along with other members of the Regal family, including Maria and Dina.


"During that time, she was as concerned as my own mother," Serna added. The actress starred in several Regal films, including "Under-age," "Schoolgirls," and "No Other Love."


Mother Lily Monteverde, a pillar of Philippine entertainment, passed away on Sunday at the age of 84. Her death has been met with an outpouring of tributes from stars across the entertainment industry, who mourn the loss of a true icon.
