Senator Bato dela Rosa Expresses Concern Over Alleged Phone Tapping

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa revealed on Monday that he is concerned about his phone being tapped for several months now.

"If you're worried that your phone is being monitored, I'm equally concerned about mine. Having been a police officer, I know my phone is being tapped. I'm certain of it," dela Rosa stated during a Senate Public Order and Dangerous Drugs committee hearing.

Despite his suspicions, the senator admitted he does not know who is responsible for tapping his phone or the technology being used.

"But I can definitely feel that my phone has been tapped for a couple of months now. Who has the capability to do this, I don't know, but I'm sure. I'm pretty sure," he added.

Dela Rosa's remarks came after Israelito Torreon, legal counsel for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), expressed concerns that their phones were being listened to during the same committee hearing.

"There should be court orders for installing listening devices. We believe even our 'I love yous' to our wives and our private conversations on our phones are being monitored," Torreon said.

The Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs is currently investigating allegations of excessive force used in executing arrest warrants against KOJC Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
