The regional weather forecast for the Visayas, Palawan, including the Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro is as follows:


Synopsis

As of 5:00 PM on August 8, 2024, the Southwest Monsoon is affecting Luzon and the western section of the Visayas.


Forecast Weather Conditions


- Western Visayas: Expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon.


- The rest of Visayas, Palawan (including Kalayaan Islands), and Occidental Mindoro: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are anticipated, caused by localized thunderstorms.


Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

- Winds: Light to moderate winds from the southeast to southwest will prevail across the Visayas, Palawan (including Kalayaan Islands), and Occidental Mindoro.


- Coastal Waters: Slight to moderate seas are expected.


PAGTAYA (Tagalog)

Ang Western Visayas ay makakaranas ng bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na papawirin na may pulo-pulong mga pag-ulan, pagkidlat, o pagkulog dulot ng Habagat.


Ang nalalabing bahagi ng Visayas, Palawan kasama ang Kalayaan Islands, at ang Occidental Mindoro ay makakaranas ng bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na papawirin na may pulo-pulong mga pag-ulan, pagkidlat, o pagkulog dulot ng localized thunderstorms.


PAGBANA-BANA (Cebuano)

Ang Western Visayas makasinati ug panagsang mapanganuron ngadto sa madag-umon nga kalangitan inubanan sa pat-ak pat-ak na mga pag-ulan, pangpangilat, o pagpanugdog tungod sa Habagat.


Ang tibuok Visayas, Palawan lakip na ang Kalayaan Islands, ug ang Occidental Mindoro makasinati ug panagsang mapanganuron ngadto sa madag-umon nga kalangitan inubanan sa pat-ak pat-ak na mga pag-ulan, pangpangilat, o pagpanugdog tungod sa localized thunderstorms.

Carlos Yulo to get millions and counting - worth of incentives after gold medal win

Carlos Yulo is poised to receive significant rewards following his groundbreaking gold medal win in the men's floor exercise at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Yulo's victory marks him as the second Filipino athlete to secure an Olympic gold, following weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz , who achieved this milestone during the Tokyo 2020 Games. The 24-year-old gymnast’s life is set to change dramatically, as he will be granted a cash incentive of ₱10 million  from the Philippine Sports Commission, in line with Republic Act 10699, which outlines benefits for national athletes and coaches.
