Central Visayas Weather Update August 2, 2024 4:00 PM

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released its latest weather update for Central Visayas as of 4:00 PM on August 2, 2024. Here’s a detailed forecast for the region:

General Weather Conditions

Central Visayas, including Cebu City and Tagbilaran City, is expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. These weather conditions are primarily due to localized thunderstorms and the prevailing weather patterns.

Cebu City

- Temperature: The temperature will range from a minimum of 25°C to a maximum of 32°C.

- Weather: Cebu City can expect scattered clouds with a high probability of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. The humidity level is around 70%, making it feel warmer than the actual temperature.

Tagbilaran City

- Temperature: The temperature will also range from a minimum of 25°C to a maximum of 32°C.

- Weather: Similar to Cebu City, Tagbilaran City will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening.

Rainfall and Thunderstorms

- There is a moderate chance of rain due to localized thunderstorms in both cities. These thunderstorms can bring heavy rainfall in short periods, so residents should be cautious of potential flash floods and landslides, especially in vulnerable areas.

Low-Pressure Area Monitoring

- PAGASA is currently monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) located east of the Philippines, which may influence weather conditions in Central Visayas. This LPA could bring additional rain showers and thunderstorms to the region. Residents are advised to stay updated with further advisories from PAGASA as the situation develops.

Advisory

PAGASA advises the public to take necessary precautions against potential flash floods and landslides. Residents in affected areas should stay informed with the latest weather advisories and be prepared for any sudden changes in weather conditions.
