Baptismal Certificates of Alice Guo's Siblings Deemed Fake by Senator Gatchalian

MANILA, Philippines — The baptismal certificates of the alleged siblings of suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo have been exposed as fraudulent, according to Senator Sherwin Gatchalian.

During the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on Monday, Gatchalian revealed that his office had obtained documents showing that Seimen Leal Guo and Wesley Leal Guo possessed baptismal certificates purportedly issued by a parish in Caloocan City, specifically the "Parokya ng San Roque." These certificates indicated that the brothers were born in Caloocan and that their parents were "Angelito Guo" and "Amelia Leal."

"We requested some documents and found out that these two individuals, Seimen Leal Guo and Wesley Leal Guo, had baptismal certificates from a church in Caloocan," Gatchalian stated.

However, in a letter dated June 6, the San Roque Cathedral Parish refuted the authenticity of these baptismal certificates, with Parochial Vicar Rev. Fr. Leo Pepito confirming that they did not have any baptismal records for the named individuals.

Gatchalian asserted that the baptismal certificates were "spurious" and "fake," alleging that they were forged by a certain Antonio Alcalde, who has since passed away according to Lucena Flores of the Caloocan City Civil Registry Office.

Mayor Alice Guo, who is currently under a Senate arrest order, is at the center of an ongoing inquiry into her alleged ties to a raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub within her jurisdiction. Her Filipino identity is also being scrutinized.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has confirmed that Guo's fingerprints match those of Chinese passport holder Guo Hua Ping. Additionally, in the Guo family's Special Investor's Resident Visa (SIRV), Lin Wen Yi is listed as the registered mother of Chinese passport holder Guo Hua Ping. The NBI also found that Guo's brother, Wesley Leal Guo, shares fingerprints with Chinese citizen Guo Xiang Dan.

Guo is also facing a human trafficking complaint related to the raided POGO hub before the Department of Justice, where she is referred to as "a.k.a Guo Hua Ping." A petition seeking her removal from office has been filed with a Manila court.
