4Ps Receives Additional Funding Boost

MANILA, Philippines — Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman announced on Tuesday that an additional P5 billion in funding for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has been approved.

"This additional funding will help mitigate the impact of inflation on our citizens. The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will work to streamline budget processes to ensure that essential services, such as the 4Ps, are delivered more quickly and efficiently," Pangandaman stated.

The extra funding for 4Ps, a key initiative of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), comes from last year's continuing appropriations as per Republic Act 11936. It will be used to cover the 2023 4Ps grants in arrears, benefiting around 703,888 underprivileged families.

"With this allocation, the DSWD can continue its vital work without interruption, providing crucial assistance to our most vulnerable citizens," Pangandaman added.

Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan noted on Monday that the 4Ps cash aids are set to increase in 2026.

The monthly subsidy for beneficiaries with a child in daycare will rise from P300 to P350. For those with children in junior high school, the subsidy will increase from P500 to P600, and for senior high school students, from P700 to P800.

In addition, health and nutrition grants will be raised from P750 to P850, while the rice subsidy will remain at P600. Pregnant and lactating mothers will receive a monthly cash grant of P350 during the first 1,000 days of their child's life.

Overall, the total cash grant for all schemes under 4Ps will increase from P2,850 to P3,550.
