Vice President Sara Duterte expressed her gratitude to Senators Ronald Dela Rosa, Christopher "Bong" Go, and Robin Padilla, as well as the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), alongside women and ordinary citizens, for their voluntary support in ensuring her security. The statement was released on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

Nagpapasalamat ako kay Senador Dela Rosa, Senador Go at Senador Padilla, mga AFP at PNP personnel, sa mga kababaihan, at lahat ng ordinaryong mamamayan sa inyong pagtugon sa panawagan ni Senador Bato ng boluntaryong pagtulong para sa aking seguridad. Ramdam ko ang inyong malasakit, pagmamahal at suporta.

Huwag kayong mag-alala sa akin. At hindi ninyo kailangan mag-ambag ng pera para sa security ko. Ang pagtatrabaho sa pamahalaan ay pag-alay ng buhay para sa bayan. Alam nating lahat na bahagi ito ng serbisyo.

Isa lang ang hiling ko sa inyo — ang kaligtasan ng aking pamilya. Huwag ninyong payagan ang anumang karahasan sa aking ina, asawa at apat na anak, personal man o sa internet. At kung sakali man, huwag ninyong palampasin ang sinumang gagawa ng kapahamakan laban sa kanila.

Carlos Yulo to get millions and counting - worth of incentives after gold medal win

Carlos Yulo is poised to receive significant rewards following his groundbreaking gold medal win in the men's floor exercise at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Yulo's victory marks him as the second Filipino athlete to secure an Olympic gold, following weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz , who achieved this milestone during the Tokyo 2020 Games. The 24-year-old gymnast’s life is set to change dramatically, as he will be granted a cash incentive of ₱10 million  from the Philippine Sports Commission, in line with Republic Act 10699, which outlines benefits for national athletes and coaches.
